LOCATION: Portland, Oregon
BIOGRAPHY: Hello! I’m Molly Vee. I’m a tattoo artist and maker from Portland, Oregon. I started tattooing in 2016, and have been in love ever since. I was blessed to grow up on a 20-acre piece of farmland in northwest Washington state. I spent much of my childhood drawing the plants and animals around me, as well as doodling on the bulletin in church. From the time I was very small, drawing was my go-to activity. I’ve had several different jobs so far in my 30 years of being alive, and I’m so happy to have finally found my way into something that allows me to use my art to uplift people, as well as something that makes me feel fulfilled, challenged, and inspired. My work tends to center around natural subject matter and the female form. I love exploring themes of faith, history, mental health, and body positivity/acceptance.
I was happy to get the chance to partner with Inked Soul when I realized what the organization stands for. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression for most of her life, as well as with body image and disordered eating, I understand the very real need for mental health support and suicide prevention work in our world. I’m excited to participate in a project that seeks to actively engage and push toward a better outcome for those who are struggling so profoundly. Inked Soul is a practice of art, put in action, toward healing, and I’m so honored to be a part of it.
